The Surge is A Success
By Cao | May 8, 2008
I love talking about the success of the surge; it drives the moonbats wild. A great place to read the good stories out of Iraq is the Multinational Force Iraq website. Remember that the brainwashing techniques of the media are not holding much weight anymore; at least for those of us who are on the internet. But it is our duty and responsibility to go out and counter what the MSM is spreading in every which way we can, in order to combat the war against our military at home. Then go over now and then to icasualties.org for the real numbers of casualties. Every now and then you’ll see bloggers like Gateway Pundit convert the numbers into a meaning graph like this one, here.
Including April’s numbers, the last seven months show the lowest number of US military fatalities since the war began in 2003.
Much like the TIME piece I put up last week, the MSM can be depended upon to depict our military in the worst possible light. And Reuters is right up there with Al Jazeera in its terrorist propaganda pushing; Reuters reported that US Military fatalities hit an all-time record high in April!!! Does anyone feel a hint of deja vu? Does the Iraqi Information Minister from 2003 come to mind, when he claimed that Saddam’s fayadeen had US forces surrounded when they were, in fact, running away like scared chickens?
While leftists attack military recruiting offices, and malign the job our men and women are doing in theater, and lament the deaths of “innocent Iraqis”, they should remember that those “innocent Iraqis” oftentimes are not Iraqis at all.
Former Club Gitmo Detainee Carries Out Suicide Mission in Iraq: Reuters:
A Kuwaiti man released from the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay in 2005 has carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq, his cousin told Al Arabiya television on Thursday.
There are two thoughts that immediately come to me on this recent news from last week; one is the fact that one of the arguments against the war is that we’re fighting “innocent Iraqis” who are defending their own back yards. If you ever read Michael Yon and the horrific stories of what Al Qaeda does to innocent Iraqis, you know that’s wrong. Al Qaeda is comprised of foreign fighters who’ve volunteered to go, like this Kuwaiti man. In 2005, MSNBC reported that 55% of the foreign fighters in Iraq were from Saudi Arabia.
Another thought that comes to mind is - the moonbats who dress themselves up in orange jumpsuits, protesting the detainment of ‘innocent muslims’ who are spending time at Club Gitmo, with legions of lawyers waiting in the wings to defend them, pro buono. Yet, we keep hearing of more and more of them who, after being released, return to the battlefield, only to blow themselves up, and grab a headline or two in the process.
Michelle Malkin posted some of these statistics back in 2007, calling it “gitmo catch and release”:
Earlier this month (this was back in July of 2007), the US released 16 Saudis from Guantanamo Bay. A total of 77 Saudis have been freed from detention. If you shared my “Uh-oh” reaction, then you will not be surprised by this latest report in The Age (via Andrew Bolt) about freed Gitmo detainees taking up arms and resuming jihad. According to the paper, at least 30 former Guantanamo Bay detainees have been killed or recaptured after taking up arms against allied forces following their release. A Defense Department spokesman told the newspaper that most of the catch-and-release beneficiaries have been discovered in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
And occasionally, we even find one blowing himself up for jihad in Iraq.
Iraq: Where the highest US casualty numbers took place this past April, 2008, and where innocent Iraqis are defending their own backyards.
