na My name, “Caoilfhionn” (key-lin) was given to me on a discussion forum a few years ago. It’s irish gaelic (and means slender and fair) and was shortened by my friends to “Cao”, which is prounounced “key”. People have pointed out that the name “Cao’s blog” could be “Chaos blog”, and in a sense that is appropros because what I write causes chaos in the minds of liberals, and for some reason what I write causes them to work themselves up into a rabid frenzy. Some people, like Kender at Kender’s Musings, think that is a great skill. I, on the other hand, am not TRYING to get their noses pulled out of joint; I’m only writing the truth as I see it; and pull from articles and truth backed up by facts that is not being covered by the MSM. The more I blog, the more it’s evident to me that the MSM has become a socialist tool of the left.

My name is Jonn Lilyea, I’ve been married for over thirty years and spent twenty years in the Army (Infantry - Airborne and Bradleys) while we raised four kids - a son and three daughters. I’m conservative, but I part with conservatives on some issues. All of that is reflected on this blog. I went to college when I had the chance - nights, weekends - until I retired from the Army and finally finished when I was 39-years-old with a degree in History and Political Science at SUNY Oswego on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario - New York’s West Coast. Now I “work” as an editor and writer in Washington, DC. After living in DC for seven years we’ve moved to the suburbs in Maryland.

Ronald Winter, a descendant of Scottish Highlanders, (themselves descendants of Viking raiders,) grew up in the farming country of upstate New York. He gave up an academic scholarship at SUNY Albany in 1966 to join the Marines and fight in Vietnam. Winter served as a helicopter machine gunner, flying 300 missions, and earning numerous decorations, including 15 Air Medals, Combat Aircrew Wings, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. After Vietnam he returned to his studies earning undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering and English Literature. In a two-decade journalism career that included stints as investigative reporter, supervising editor, and columnist, Winter received several prestigious awards and a Pulitzer nomination. He currently works as a writer specializing in media relations and is a fierce advocate of veterans’ rights. Winter speaks regularly to school and community groups on the history of the Vietnam War.

I have led an exciting life traveling across the USA in my youth. When I was 20 years old, I tried to enlist with the Navy, but a childhood eye operation prevented it. GO NAVY! I am a Christian, conservative, lady who loves our men and women in uniform, and I plan to do all that I physically can to support them.

Those who insist we can just feed the alligator will be eaten last.

Rurik is also known as George Mellinger. After completing his undergraduate degree and a single quarter of graduate school, Rurik enlisted in the Army in 1969 and spent a year in Viet Nam, with a primary MOS of 12B20, Combat Engineer. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. After discharge from the Army, he enlisted again in the Texas Army National Guard for a year. For seven years he worked as an administrative manager for the Veterans Administration, in several cities. Later he returned to graduate school where he studied Russian History, in which he is ABD, and Early Islamic History. He has taught at university level, and is the author of several books under his street name. He continues to follow military matters, particularly Russian/ex-Soviet developments. During the 2004 presidential campaign he was reenergized as a veteran and became active in politics and blogging, first at Old War Dogs, and then at Veteran-American Voices. In March 2007 he went to Washington with the first Gathering of Eagles rally to defend the Viet Nam veterans Wall. When Eagles UP separated, he went with them, and again participated in the rallies of September 2007 and most recently March 2008. During that last mission, he was one of a small handful of bloggers able to attend the IVAW conference and report from inside. He also remains active with the Patriot Guard Riders.
